U.S. Senator Susan Collins today participated in a ceremony as Target presented a $2,500 donation to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kennebec Valley.
Big Brothers Big Sisters is the oldest and large youth mentoring organization in the United States. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kennebec Valley was established in 1982 and is one of six accredited Big Brothers Big Sisters agencies in Maine. Jo Etta Horn, Executive Director, accepted the donation from Target’s Augusta store manager, Bill Geary.
“This generous contribution truly exemplifies the spirit we celebrate in this season of giving,” said Senator Collins. “Big Brothers Big Sisters is a valuable program that partners adults with children who need mentors, therefore providing them with the confidence and skills they need to reach their full potential. I commend Target for its charitable contribution and I thank the staff and all of the volunteers at Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Kennebec Valley for their hard work and dedication.”
