SENATOR COLLINS ANNOUNCES U.S. NAVY SHIPS TO VISIT MAINE

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Senator Susan Collins, a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, announced today that U.S. Navy ships will make port visits to Maine during six festivals this summer.  Details regarding the names of the particular ships will be released in the near future.               “I am thrilled that the Navy will once again honor our great state of Maine with these port visits during these annual summer celebrations,” Senator Collins said.  “These visits afford those who serve the U.S. Navy and the citizens they protect an opportunity to come together during these wonderful summer festivities.  As a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, I am time and again moved by this proud American tradition, and I thank the U.S. Navy for making these visits possible.”               At Senator Collins’s request, U.S. Navy ships will visit the following locations:   • Belfast during the 59th annual Bay Festival, to be held July 17-21 • Boothbay Harbor during the 44th annual Windjammer Days Festival, to be held June 26-30 • Bucksport during the Downeast Gateway Festival (formerly the Fort Knox Bay Festival), to be held July 27-31 • Camden during the 12th annual Windjammer Weekend, to be held August 31-September 5 • Eastport during the 4th of July Festival, to be held from June 30-July 5 • Rockland during the 59th annual Maine Lobster Festival, to be held August 3-7
