U.S. Senator Susan Collins today announced that the U.S. Army awarded General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products a contract in the amount of $5,076,330. The contract is for 1,500 M2 receiver cartridges to be produced at its facility in Saco.
The contract is estimated to be completed by September 30, 2008.
Earlier this week, Senator Collins announced an additional contract for Saco Defense in the amount of $25,987,217. That contract is for 1,909 M2 machine guns.
Senator Collins serves on the Senate Armed Services Committee, which has oversight over the U.S. Army and other military branches.
