WASHINGTON, D.C.—Senator Susan Collins, who is a Member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, announced that the Pentagon has awarded a $13,730,538 contract to Bath Iron Works for work on the DDG-51 program. The contract is a modification to a previously awarded contract.
“The skilled workers at Bath Iron Works continue to play a key role in our Naval ship programs and our national security. Today’s contract announcement is very good news,” said Senator Collins.
The purpose of the contract is to enable BIW to maintain necessary lead yard engineering and technical support and maintenance for the DDG 51 program.
