SENATOR COLLINS’ STATEMENT ON THE PRESIDENTIAL INAUGURATION

Washington, DC – Following the inauguration ceremony today for President George W. Bush, Senator Susan Collins, who attended the swearing-in ceremony in front of the Capitol Building, released the following statement:

"It is appropriate that the President spoke about freedom, since that is what the inauguration is about – it is a celebration of the democracy and liberties that Americans value. I am honored to participate in this historic event. I look forward to working with the President over the next four years to accomplish the important and difficult tasks that lie ahead of us."
