Senator Collins’ Statement on Plans for Syria Withdrawal

Washington, D.C.—U.S. Senator Susan Collins issued this statement following the announcement of President Trump’s decision to pull U.S. troops out of northeastern Syria:

“This is a terribly unwise decision by the President to abandon our Kurdish allies, who have been our major partner in the fight against the Islamic State.”
