Senator Collins’ Statement on the Passing of the Honorable Robert “Leo” Kieffer

Washington, D.C. - U.S. Senator Susan Collins released the following statement regarding the passing of the Honorable Robert “Leo” Kieffer:

“A pillar of the community, Leo was a prominent business leader, public servant, and outdoor enthusiast who sought to preserve and expand recreational activities in Maine.

“Leo served the City of Caribou and Aroostook County as a City Councilor, Mayor, and Maine State Senator for 14 years. His passion for the community was reflected in his involvement in numerous civic and business organizations.

“Leo and his late wife, Pat, were neighbors of my parents in Caribou. He will long be remembered for his leadership, his commitment to Caribou, and his deep love for his family.”
