Senator Collins’ Statement on the Passing of Former State Representative Mary H. MacBride
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Susan Collins released the following statement regarding the passing of the Honorable Mary H. MacBride of Falmouth and formerly of Presque Isle:
“Mary was a great friend to me and to so many, and her love and joy for others were evident in her cheerfulness, enthusiasm, and public service. She lived a long and full life and recently celebrated her 100th birthday with great gusto and gratitude.
“Serving as a Maine State Representative for 16 years, Mary worked tirelessly on behalf of the citizens of Aroostook County and the State of Maine. Mary had a tremendous impact on our state, and I so enjoyed working with her.
“Mary will be long remembered for her compassion, leadership, and generosity. Her commitment to her faith, family, and community were an inspiration to all who knew her.”
