Washington, D.C. - U.S. Senator Susan Collins issued this statement following Dr. William “Bro” Adams’ announcement that he has resigned as chairman of the National Endowment for the Humanities:
“Yesterday, former Colby College President Bro Adams informed me of his decision to resign as chairman of the National Endowment for the Humanities. Under Dr. Adams’ leadership, the NEH has enriched communities by enhancing educational and cultural opportunities in Maine and across the country. Among his many accomplishments, Dr. Adams was instrumental in the creation of the ‘Standing Together’ program, which helps veterans record their experience and transition back to society. I am certain that Dr. Adams will continue his lifelong commitment to public service, education, and the humanities when he returns home to Maine.”
