Edmunds Township, ME — A representative from U.S. Senator Susan Collins’ Bangor Office recently attended the Annual Veteran’s Fishing Day at Headquarters Pond of Cobscook Bay State Park in Edmunds Township. Service volunteers along with staff from the Maine Veteran’s Home of Machias, Cobscook Bay State Park, Maine Warden Service, Moosehorn National Wildlife Refuge, and Friends of Moosehorn National Wildlife Refuge teamed up to provide a day’s worth of fishing and recreation for Maine’s veterans.
“Veterans in Maine and throughout the country have made countless sacrifices to protect our nation and our freedom,” said Senator Collins. “The Annual Veteran’s Fishing Day is a wonderful tradition that gives Veterans the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors and cast a line or two!”
Moosehorn National Wildlife Refuge consists of nearly 30,000 acres of federally protected lands in eastern Maine.
The National Wildlife Refuge System, within the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, manages a national network of lands and waters set aside to conserve America's fish, wildlife, and plants.
