Pineland Farms to Supply 28 Sam’s Club Stores

WASHINGTON, D.C.—U.S. Senator Susan Collins and Rodney McCrum, the President & COO of Pineland Farms Potato Company Inc. in Mars Hill, ME, announced today that Pineland Farms will begin supplying 28 of Sam’s Club’s northeast stores in approximately 30 days.

“I am so proud of this development. Pineland Farms products showcase the best of Maine – all-natural ingredients and small-scale agriculture. This contract will not only help support good jobs in Maine, but also will allow families across the Northeast to enjoy Maine products. Clearly, with this notable contract, Pineland Farms has once again proven the value and quality of its products,”said Senator Collins.

“For nearly twenty years, Pineland Farms has produced delicious potato products in Aroostook County. We are very excited that our fresh, high quality potatoes will now be enjoyed across the Northeast. Thanks to Senator Collins’ idea about increasing our distribution through Sam’s Club, and introduction to Sam’s Club, Pineland Farms potato products caught the eye of this prominent national food chain. This new partnership will help us continue to create jobs for young men and women across Aroostook County,” said Rodney McCrum.

Senator Collins suggested to Pineland Farms that it explore business development and increased distribution with Sam’s Club. Senator Collins helped to facilitate a meeting between the President of Sam’s Club and Rodney McCrum. Pineland Farms made the most of the opportunity. Together the two companies explored how the Maine business could add to the good value and high quality products Sam’s Club offers. Due to both the leadership of Rodney McCrum and the excellent potato and cheese products produced by the men and women at Pineland Farms, Sam’s Club and Pineland Farms reached a contract that will put Pineland Farms products on the shelves of 28 Sam’s Clubs across the Northeast.
