Funding will support renovations for town office and Stephens Memorial Hospital
Washington, D.C.--U.S. Senator Susan Collins, a senior member of the powerful Senate Appropriations Committee, announced that she secured a total of $2,492,000 for two projects in Norway in the Fiscal Year 2023 government funding bill that was signed into law.
“Effective delivery of town services and access to quality health care are essential to building thriving communities,” said Senator Collins. “I strongly advocated for these projects, which will make improvements to the Norway Town Office and Stephens Memorial Hospital. These investments will provide significant benefits to local residents; encourage business development and job creation; and help ensure that the town remains a great place to live, work, and recreate.”
Details on the two Maine projects Senator Collins secured are below:
Norway Town Office Renovation and Expansion
Recipient: Town of Norway
Amount: $850,000
Project Purpose: To renovate and expand the town office building with improvements for public safety services.
Stephens Memorial Hospital PACE Ambulance Station Renovation
Recipient: MaineHealth
Amount: $1,642,000
Purpose: To support facility improvements and equipment for the PACE Paramedic Station in Norway, which will serve 18 rural communities in Oxford County.
