Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Susan Collins announced that Hunter Steele, a Lewiston native, has completed a summer internship in her Washington, D.C., office. Hunter is a graduate of Lewiston High School.

“Hunter has a commendable work ethic, and he has demonstrated impressive leadership skills in the classroom and through his extracurricular activities,” said Senator Collins.  “I was delighted to welcome him to my Washington, D.C., office, and I am pleased that he had the opportunity to see the legislative process firsthand as well as to serve his fellow Mainers.”

Hunter is a rising senior at Bowdoin College, where he is double majoring in economics and religion with a minor in classics.  Hunter is the President of Bowdoin Mock Trial; the Senior Campus Ambassador for the Mitchell Institute; and a goalie on the Men’s Lacrosse Team, which just posted its best season in history with an appearance in the NCAA quarterfinals.  Upon graduation from Bowdoin, Hunter plans to attend law school.

Maine students who are interested in applying for future sessions of the internship program can do so through Senator Collins’ website at: https://www.collins.senate.gov/services/students
