FEMA RELIEF GRANTED TO MAINE FOLLOWING SPRING FLOODS

Washington, DC –Senator Susan Collins today announced that the Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) has granted disaster relief to Maine for losses incurred during the floods that wiped out areas of the State this spring. Senator Collins had been in communication with FEMA officials at all levels to urge that this relief be granted to Maine. Senator Collins is chair of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, which oversees the Department of Homeland Security including FEMA.

"Residents and businesses throughout Maine suffered severe damages during the destructive floods this spring. This relief is critical in helping the state recover from the floods, and I am pleased that FEMA has made this declaration," Senator Collins said.
