Collins, King Announce Nearly $1 Million for Maine Workforce Research

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, U.S. Senators Susan Collins (R-Maine) and Angus King (I-Maine) announced that the Maine Department of Labor’s Center for Workforce Research and Information (CWRI) has received $998,737 in funding from the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL). This funding will provide CWRI programs with data to conduct analysis of state labor programs and help the public better understand workforce systems.

“We welcome this investment to grow Maine’s workforce and expand job opportunities for Maine people,” said Senators Collins and King in a joint statement. “This funding will give employers and analysts the information they need to make the best decisions to improve our workforce around the state and provide support to those who are looking for jobs.”

The Center for Workforce Research and Information (CWRI) is a program under the Maine Department of Labor that analyzes, develops and shares state and area labor market data to employers, job seekers, and other users. Through their website, they provide timely and accurate data on workforce development to help users make informed labor decisions.
