WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Senators Susan Collins and Angus King today announced that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has awarded $200,000 to Cary Medical Center in Caribou as part of its Small Health Care Provider Quality Improvement Program.
“Health care providers like Cary Medical Center provide our rural communities with high-quality, accessible patient care,” Senators Collins and King said in a joint statement. “This funding is a welcome investment in Cary Medical Center and will support this impressive facility and its staff in their mission to serve the people of Aroostook County.”
The Small Health Care Provider Quality Improvement Grant Program provides three years of funding support to rural primary care providers for implementation of quality improvement activities. The program is administered by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), a sub-agency of HHS.
Cary Medical Center is a 65-bed acute care hospital in Caribou.
