Washington, D.C. — To honor our nation's teachers and commemorate National Teacher Appreciation Week, U.S. Senators Susan Collins (R-ME) and Sherrod Brown (D-OH) led a bipartisan resolution to recognize the important work of teachers across the nation and thank them for their efforts to prepare students for success. Their resolution passed the Senate by unanimous consent last night.
“Schools in Maine and across the country have something very important in common: dedicated teachers working to provide our students with the best possible education and to help them realize their full potential,” said Senator Collins. “This resolution honors the indefatigable efforts of our teachers and expresses our gratitude for all that they do for our students."
“Teachers build a foundation for success that follows students well beyond the classroom,” said Senator Brown. “We must continue to show our gratitude to our educators through policy that supports teachers in their efforts to develop the next generation of leaders.”
