Coast Guard Payment Issue Resolved Following Senator Collins’ Advocacy

Washington, D.C.—Following reports of a payroll system issue that would prevent 42,000 Coast Guard members from being paid for pre-shutdown work until the government shutdown ends, U.S. Senator Susan Collins called the White House this afternoon to urge an immediate fix.

This evening, the White House called Senator Collins to inform her that the issue has been resolved and that members of the Coast Guard will now be paid for their pre-shutdown work.
