Cameron noted that during Senator Collins's first term in the U.S. Senate, BIW received the two largest Navy shipbuilding contracts in the yard's 118-year history. Senator Collins's work to obtain these contracts has resulted in a workload for BIW that will extend through the decade, providing BIW and its workforce an unprecedented degree of stability.

"Your diligent work with the Defense Department and Navy Leaders helped ensure that BIW and its workforce's interests were served. "I want you to know how grateful I am for your important work in the United States Senate and for the level of commitment you bring to looking out for the interests of this shipyard and the employees and families of Bath Iron Works."
