(WASHINGTON, D.C.) – U.S. Senators Olympia J. Snowe (R-ME) and Susan Collins (R-ME), Judd Gregg (R-NH) and John Sununu (R-NH), and Congressmen Tom Allen (D-ME) and Jeb Bradley (R-NH) today thanked Assistant Secretary of Defense for Homeland Defense Paul McHale for visiting the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard (PNSY). McHale's tour of PNSY, which homeports three Coast Guard cutters, gave him a close-up look at the facilities and systems that make this facility vital to homeland security.

"We are pleased that Assistant Secretary McHale recognizes the unique capabilities that the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard offers to our national security efforts at home and around the globe," said the delegation members. "His visit can only serve to broaden awareness among Pentagon decision-makers of the importance and value of PNSY to our homeland defense."
