Washington, D.C. — American Business leaders are expressing their support for the Keeping Workers Paid and Employed Act, a sweeping $300 billion emergency economic relief plan that would provide 100 percent federally guaranteed emergency loans to businesses that are experiencing a sharp drop in revenue due to COVID-19.  This legislation, authored by Senators Susan Collins (R-ME) and Marco Rubio (R-FL) would help prevent Americans from losing their jobs and keep small business from going under as a consequence of the coronavirus pandemic.

“We, the undersigned business leaders applaud your efforts to support small businesses during this crisis,” wrote the group of American business leaders.  “Small business employers are job creators. Small business employers want to keep their employees on salary during the crisis. A small business emergency loan program that includes forgiveness for an appropriate percentage of payroll for any small business that keeps their employees on salary will allow small businesses to keep America employed, “We thank you for your leadership, and hope both Republicans and Democrats can come together to support The Keeping Workers Paid and Employed Act.”
