KITTERY, ME—U.S. Senator Susan Collins will visit Sumner Memorial High School tomorrow and deliver remarks to the faculty, staff, and student body and tour Sumner’s innovative Pathways Programs. Senator Collins remarks will be open to the press.
Sumner Memorial High School enrolls 252 students from the towns of Sullivan, Sorrento, Franklin, Gouldsboro, Winter Harbor, Steuben and some of Hancock.
Sumner Memorial High School offers an innovative Pathways Program for students to earn their high school diplomas. Roughly, twenty percent of students participate in one of three Pathways tracks: Liberal Arts Pathways, Marine Pathways, or Alternative Pathways. The program offers students the opportunity to tailor their studies to their interests, outside the structure of a traditional high school curriculum. Students in the program do independent work within the realm of a project they design themselves.
