Biddeford, ME - Advisor to the President Ivanka Trump and Treasurer of the United States Jovita Carranza joined U.S. Senator Susan Collins at a forum on tax reform at Volk Packaging Corporation in Biddeford, Maine. The forum was moderated by former Congresswoman Nan Hayworth and attended by more than 225 small business owners, community leaders, and advocates from across the State of Maine.
“Ivanka is a passionate advocate for working families and working mothers across the United States. I have truly enjoyed our discussions, and it was a pleasure to welcome her and Treasurer Jovita Carranza to Maine today to discuss the importance of making our tax system fairer, simpler, and more pro-growth,” said Senator Collins during her opening remarks. “There is widespread support for reforming our tax code. Reform is not going to be easy, but I want to seize this opportunity to provide our working families and small businesses with tax relief that helps to grow our economy and increase paychecks.”
"Tax reform is the Administration's top legislative priority so it was wonderful to join Senator Collins and U.S. Treasurer Carranza in Maine to talk about how tax reform will provide much needed relief for hard working American families and enable American businesses to be competitive and thrive. I want to thank Senator Collins for hosting us today and being such a great champion for working families,” said Advisor to the President Ivanka Trump.
“It was an honor to visit the great state of Maine to discuss the administration's plan for tax reform. Our plan focuses on a middle income tax cut that will put real money in the hands of Americans to help them invest in their children’s futures and their own retirements,” said U.S. Treasurer Jovita Carranza. “Fiscally responsible tax reform that boosts economic growth and provides relief for working families is a goal that is shared by Democrats, Republicans, and Independents. Americans all know how to spend, save, and invest their own money and we want to make it easier for them to do so.”
